A Journey through the Stars

March’s hairy hare hops hauntingly close – Rabbit!  It is here!

And March 8th, Sunday, at 12:00, is the time for the
A Journey through the Stars and Planets,
an astrological view,
performed by Dragon’s Egg artists and friends,
and held at the Hygienic Galleries on Bank Street in New London.

This will be a promenade performance, moving from gallery to gallery.  In each gallery will be a different dancer, actor, singer, puppeteer, beast, or hooper, ready to invite you into their version of this year’s theme.  
Also will be various astrological signs and planets wandering around ‘midst the audience, for your starry bemusement.
This celestial je ne sais quoi will take about one hour, and is by donation ($5 suggested, but more is more!) and will be suitable for all ages and styles.

This idea of an intermingling of performing artists and visual art spaces began with a love idea by Marya in 2008 – or was it 2007? – when a “Groundhoggian Valentine” was presented in the Hoxie Gallery in Rhode Island.  Since that time, we have relocated to the Hygienic Galleries in New London, Ct., where we have peopled the galleries with poems by Yeats and scenes from Hardy and references to Mars.  Performers offer their work from the generosity of the artist’s heart, and we invite you to share in our explorations of the theme du jour.   This year, 2015, we are journeying through the sky, and we invite you along, from Aquarian to Capricorn!   all and sundry, cusp and moonie.
