Enter into simple, evocative circle dances that draw on sacred phrases, scripture, and poetry of the the Earth’s spiritual traditions – Hindu, Sufi, Native American, Celtic, NorthAfrican, Christian, Goddess, and many more.  Discover unity and peace through chant, music and movement, with live musicians in the circle’s center and a dance leader who will teach the sacred phrase, melody and motions for each dance.  Created by Sufi master and Rinzai Zen Buddhist teacher Samuel L. Lewis, the Dances of Universal Peace provide an integrated experience of body motion, sound, breath and words.  They promote an experience of collective peace, harmony, a sense of solidarity and community and insight into the underlying universality of all the spiritual traditions of the Earth.  No dance experience or special attire are required; dancers need not bring a partner.

The Dances are led by Walia Sandra Guillow, certified leader and Shems William Guillow, mentored leader of the Dances of Universal Peace. They are joined by talented and enthusiastic musicians who provide live music for the dances. Based on the Unity of Religious Ideals, the dances draw on the spiritual traditions of Christianity, Judaism, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Native American and Goddess traditions.
