The annual Narrative Project at the Egg this summer will be a zoom event, on August 15th, at 4 pm.

True, it will not have the wonderful environment and playful interactions we have at the egg, the crowded back stage, the beastie masks passed around. The cast dinner. The morning stretches, adaptations, rehearsals. It will be different.

Instead, it will be on zoom: I see it as live, rather than recorded.
People not geographically near might be able to create something for the event.
The 4 pm time would actually mean that people in Europe and in California might be able to participate.

This also lends some certainty to the event, no possibility of it being cancelled, due to closures or such.
In early March, before the shut down, we selected The Plague (little did we know – I mean, it was all still just beginning) by Camus as the inspiration text, though the performers may range into history and imagination, beyond Camus’ book.

I hope to have a couple of medieval style plague doctor’s masks, for instance. And rats. And maybe a rat king. I’d like also to look at the Pied Piper of Hamelin. And at the Dancing Plague of 1518.
There are many kinds of plague, and many kinds of responses
