CDC students, their families, former CDC dancers & families too as well as multi-generational folks FROM THE COMMUNITY who might want to dance in

our Gala Event May 17, 2014 7pm at The Garde Arts Center. Hoping for GROWN-UPS of ALL

AGES & children of ALL AGES ….. Inexperienced dancers are WELCOME too !!

Saturday May 3 2-4pm @ Blissworks 228 State Street (2nd Floor) New London

1 Workshop = $15.00 per person
Two workshops minimum to perform on May 17

2 Workshops = $20.00 per person

3 Workshops = $25.00 per person (pay in full on Day One) Attending all workshops is highly recommended

BREATHS is a 4 Min. dance set to music by Sweet Honey in the Rock, choreographed by Anne Green Gilbert, the “creative dance guru” of the West Coast. We learned it from Anne many years ago at a Creative Dance Conference. CDC has performed BREATHS several times since 9/11, when it was first performed to honor CDC dancer Julianna McCourt. We are excited to be bringing this dance back as a part of this our Gala 25th Annual Concert on May 17, 2014 at 7pm at The Garde. Ideal for mothers & daughters to do together…. Or grandmothers, daughters, or any other combo you can think of. (boys & men not excluded !!) It is a PARTNER DANCE but you can sign up as ONE PERSON- YOU DO NOT NEED TO COME WITH A PARTNER – we will find you a great partner ! Zach Combs, African Drummer will be playing live with the song as well as a percussive opening section that will be partly improvised. This choreography is easy to learn. Costuming will be easy & simple….

We hope you will want to join us for this special event. Tell your friends, find yourself a partner, or come alone….. This will be an uplifting experience for one & all…..
