Clare Byrne – dancer, songwriter and choreographer – is working on a solo sabbatical project “Song and Dance Man.” Freshly back in the States from artist residencies in Ireland and Italy, she’s tossing together her longtime experimental dance acumen with her newer musical skills and seeing what kind of alchemy results.

 

New tools: electric guitar, amp, loop pedal. Old tools: body, wind instruments and words. With a whole batch of new songs, she’s playing with breaking them down and building them up in ways that leave space for winds of wildness to move through.
