Music and Poetry at the Egg
On July 19th, at 5 pm, the Egg will host a conversation between two poets, Alice Pero (also on flute), and Dan Potter, and harpsichordists, America Dupre la Tour and Elena Zamolodchikova .
Come for this sometimes boisterous, sometimes witty, sometimes reflective engagement of ways of speaking and observing.
Alice Pero is a native New Yorker transplanted to LA. She has dozens of poems in print and her book, “Thawed Stars” was praised by Kenneth Koch as having “clarity and surprises.” She is a flutist who graduated from The Manhattan School of Music and performs with the chamber group, “Windsong.”
In 1964 Alice Pero and Dan Potter graduated from The Putney School in the same class. In 2014 they began a poetry collaboration, ongoing every other day for over two years. In July 2015 they performed , “Ripostes” at The Dragons Egg with keyboardist, Amyeric Dupré la Tour. In July 2016 they will reunite to perform more of the dialogue, adding more music.
