The Project:

That True Phoenix (working title) by Daniel John Kelley is an examination of the life of Lorenzo Da Ponte and us, now, presently. What can we learn about the uniquely American mythology that is the self-made-man from one of its earliest examples? What does it mean to reinvent yourself; to be ambitious? Yeah we don’t know yet either, which is why we’re writing the play!
